Route details
We'll set off from Thônes towards Le Grand-Bornand, directly along the main road. You'll quickly get a chance to familiarize yourself with our quads and enjoy their robustness on long straights with slight curves, on roads limited to 70 km/h for about 10 km, before arriving at our first point of interest: the village of Le Grand-Bornand. There, we'll cross a wonderful rural refuge, at the foot of the region's most popular ski resorts.
We will then gain height, where the thrills will become increasingly present and where the proximity of our majestic mountains will remind you how small we are. We will cross the hamlet of Chinaillon before reaching the Mystérieuse waterfall below, a true haven of freshness, an excellent opportunity to stretch your legs and capture beautiful shots of this peaceful and natural place.
Back on the road, we'll head to the highest point of the route: the Col de la Colombière. There, you'll be able to admire breathtaking panoramas during a twenty-minute break. Enjoy the rustic architecture and typical signs to enjoy a coffee on a sunny terrace, or simply meditate in front of this postcard-perfect setting, before getting back on the road.
We'll continue with winding descents, crossing incomparable landscapes, where it will be difficult to keep your eyes off the asphalt as the scenery is so striking. We'll make several photo stops to allow you to immortalize the sunset over the magnificent Aravis Mountains, with its clear horizons and breathtaking colorful shades.
On the way back, the inertia will be pleasantly surprising. You'll feel the adrenaline rush as you twist and turn through the imposing Grand Bornand Valley, before gently returning to Thônes.
